For Serious Badminton Players Only
"World-Class Badminton Coaching: Introducing The Badminton Mastery Program"
"I'm looking for a few more of my dream clients. If that's you, I'll personally coach you 1:1 online to help you progress more in the next 3 to 6 months - than you did in the previous years. Guaranteed."
I'm playing badminton for the last 18 years, and am a professional badminton player for 8 years. In that time:
I've won the US Junior National Badminton Championship seven times - the most prestigious trophy in the US for a junior player.
I've played for the US National Team 6 years in a row - which makes me one of the best players in the US.
And competed at the World Championships in Denmark in 2023 - which makes me one of the best badminton players alive.
Here's me smiling ear-to-ear in that moment in Denmark:
I'm saying all this to you not to toot my horn, but to get one crucial point across:
Over the last 18 years I've made every mistake under the sun.
Had the wrong grip
Had the wrong shot selection during the match
Lost my nerves in tournaments (multiple times)
Had sloppy and inefficent footwork
Had a weak backhand
Focused on shiny objects (trick shots) instead of the fundamentals
Most of my weaknesses were only fully fixed as a professional player. Where I could learn from a variety of world-class coaches and learn the secrets of the trade.
Only then it dawned on me...
See, badminton is a skill-based sport:
You neither need to be 7 feet tall (like basketball), or...
Need super good muscle-building genetics (like bodybuilding or rugby) to compete
So the best players are typically the ones that understand the game to a bigger extent than others do.
As a result, you'll learn the best (and the fastest) if you can be coached by one of the best players alive. Right?
This gives serious badminton players only 3 options:
You don't hire a coach. You get frustrated trying to piece all the puzzle pieces together yourself, as badminton turns out to be more difficult than anticipated. You love the game, but feel your love dwindling as you lose rally after rally and don't progress.
You hire a local coach. Your local coach (if you have one available), might be qualified or might not be. In any case, you're confident that the local coach is a few steps ahead of you. So you can shorten your learning curve. As you grow in your game, you might realize that a lot of what the local coach told you is not fully correct. This makes you doubt your coach - and yourself - and you have to go through a re-learning phase.
You work with a top-level coach. You either fly to a top-level coach (or let them fly in) - or work with them online. In the case of online coaching, the feedback may be delayed by 1-3 hours (due to reliance on texts) - but the feedback is much better. You have an even shorter learning curve, and don't have to go through a re-learning phase.
To visualize this:
And given that top-level coaches often don't live in your same city - the only way to work with a top-level coach is online.
Well, you could still fly out to them (or have them fly in) - but top-level coaches cost a lot in-person. We're talking $200 or $300 per hour (or more)...
... which is exactly why I've created the Badminton Mastery program:
In the Badminton Mastery program, you learn the secrets of badminton directly from me (a top-level coach).
Here's my promise: In the next 3 to 6 months of working together, you'll make more progress than you've made in the previous years. Guaranteed.
Here's exactly how it works:
Fully personalized step-by-step program that adjusts to your schedule and is easy to follow (even on vacations and holidays)
Holistic approach, as you'll enjoy an on and off-court program, workouts, techniques, nutrition advice and mindset
Weekly 30-min coaching call with me one-on-one, where we can chat about your goals - and help you do what you know you should do
Unlimited message access to me, where you can reach me 24/7 365 days (I reply back within 2-3 hours)
Unlimited technique reviews and video analysis, where you can get almost instant advice on your form - and discover how professional players view your game
Access to a tight-knit badminton community of serious players. Make friends and meet up to play together.
I only work with 10-20 clients at a given time. I want to know all my personal clients by name and to guarantee a high-level of service.
Do you want to be one of the select few that I work with one on one?
The Badminton Mastery program is invite-only. Which means, everyone that wants to join goes through a small application phase.
Meaning: You book a free call with my team.
In that free call, my team will ask you a few questions and determine if you're a good fit personality-wise to work directly with me.
If you are: Awesome, we'll invite you to join.
If you are not: No pressure, we'll part as friends.
Fair enough?

Meet Young Guo: He transformed from one of the worst players at his local badminton club - to one of the best.
He's been working with me for over 3 months now. In that time:
1. He followed a clear step-by-step program that was tailored to his weaknesses
2. He learned directly from me, a 7x US Junior National Badminton Champion.
As a result, the consistency of his shots improved significantly, and it shows! He worked himself up in the player hierarchy at his local club, and the players at the club regularly ask him for his 'secret sauce'. :)
Meet Natasha Hsu: Before working with me she was really frustrated about her mixed game.
I've created a step-by-step program for her, so she could improve her game quickly. I've also held her accountable in a positive way, analyzed her game - and gave her clear pointers to improve her game to the next level.
Now, she won 2x Bay Area mixed titles! Well done Natasha, you're awesome!
Meet Katie: Before training with me, she hadn't had formal training in years and was just playing open gym with friends.
While working with me, she gained some quick improvement hacks and also learned to think more critically about her game.
Now, she looks forward to every week's practice! She feels much more comfortable on the court, and even plans to compete at a local tournament!
“Badminton is such a diverse sport, that it’s easy to get confused and frustrated. Online badminton coaching helps you gain clarity. It helps you know which shots to pick, which strategy to pursue – and how to get better (quickly)!”
- Kevin Barkman, World Rank Of #147 (Badminton World Federation)
Hi there, I'm Justin 👋
I'm a 7x US Junior National Badminton Champion, a professional badminton player and part of the US national team.
According to the Badminton World Federation, my highest global rank is #126. This makes me one of the best badminton players in the US.
But enough of me tooting my horn. :)
I've created the Badminton Mastery program because I know that badminton is not easy. It may look easy, but it certainly isn't, right?
There are times when badminton is frustrating, you deal with plateaus - and it's difficult to climb out of that spot because the advice online is overwhelming.
That's why I've invested $100,000+ over the last 8 years of being a professional badminton player to learn from the best coaches alive. It made me a great player, but you may not have the same resources as I do.
So, I've created Badminton Mastery to create a third option to help serious badminton players get better at the sport you and me love, badminton.
To you winning more rallies,
Justin
No, the 'Badminton Mastery' program is invite-only. The reason for that is that I want to work with a select number of people that are serious about becoming really good at badminton.
My team will meet you first to determine your goals and your current situation. We also want to see if you're a fit personality-wise. If you are, we'll invite you to join. If not, we'll part as friends. So no pressure!
Yes, absolutely! All that is required is that you're serious, committed and have a willingness to learn.
If you're a complete badminton beginner - and love badminton and are serious about becoming really, really good - then this is the perfect fit. I currently work with badminton players ranging from all experience levels (complete beginners to pros).
Yes, absolutely! You can still be a fantastic badminton player even when you start in your forties, fifties and sixties.
Age is just a number, and badminton is a lifelong sport. If you're in your sixties, you can very much dominate your age category and be the best player among your friends.
No, while a partner is always beneficial - it's not required. I always try to make the drills as easy and effortless as possible for my clients to follow.
Having said that, if you're on an advanced level (or even a pro), I'd suggest you having a partner as the drills required for you to level up your game will be more advanced.
Sure thing! Please reach out to me and my team at [email protected]!
